Day 66: Snapshots at the Zoo

Today I decided to not worry about if I was taking technically great photos and enjoy the zoo with my children.  I’ve found that I’m getting frustrated taking photos and them not being perfect, rather than just trying to capture the moments.  Today my goal was simply to document our visit.  Most of these are more snapshots, but I still love them.

This picture makes me smile.  The sign says ‘What’s Happening at the Zoo’ and I like how they are both saying ‘I don’t know?!!?’

Being a monkey watching the monkeys

Carousel rides.  I was so afraid of moving too far away from them.  Cooper was so cute because he was afraid of all the other animals except the horses.  He particularly did not like the mountain goat.  (Holy yellow lights makes him so, so yellow!)

Charlotte looked afraid, but she really had a blast.

Train ride.  They really, really loved this.  I had a hard time making them stay seated because they wanted to see the ground move by.

Day 65: Gym day, again.

Wasn’t in the mood to take pictures today.  Took my camera but didn’t really care what pictures I got.  I forgot the room is painted blue so combined with the flourescent lighting, the pictures were quite blue.  I had to add some yellow and red even after I corrected white balance.   I really wanted to get pictures at the bounce house this afternoon, but it was way too much work for me to try to take any photos.  Those places are madhouses!!

Cooper likes being put inside the barrel so he can knock it over and get out.

Charlotte is learning to leap and jump into the ball pit.  I love her face here.

Day 64: Smelling and Matching

Charlotte smells everything, especially her food before she eats.  I find it adorable.

Cooper copies her and smells everything too.  Except he is way more expressive after smelling something.  He doesn’t seem to care for the ‘Fresh Linen’ scent of the candle.

Cooper’s new favorite game is matching things.  We have these puzzle pieces that match a color, pattern or texture to an item (blue balloon, rough lizard, spotted dog) and we also have the game Memory.  These are also great for practicing words and naming things.  I really loved how the all the cards were spread on the floor and made some great colors.  Although the photo isn’t exactly what I was going for, I still like the photos.

Day 63: Talking

They are finally starting to really talk.  Charlotte has a delay but the last 4 months of therapy have helped tremendously.  Her new favorite word is momma.  She says it over and over and loves that it gets my attention.  Most of the time it melts my heart since she can finally say it, but wow she doesn’t stop saying it either!  Her other favorite word?

Baw (ball)!  She says it over and over and over until we can barely take it anymore.

Cooper is also starting to talk, although he’s been trying new words for awhile now.  He also says momma, but his is more of a ‘muh-muh’, very short and punctuated.  (Charlotte’s is more of mommmmaaaaaaa!)
