Edit Challenge

I participate in edit challenges every once in awhile, but I really love how these turned out so I’m putting it on my blog.  This photo was provided by another mother on a board I frequent.  Her daughter is a beautiful child and a great subject to practice editing.

Day 42: Faces, feet and tongues

One of Cooper’s favorite things about our dog is that she loves to sniff him.  He especially likes when she sniffs his face.  (This was taken by my husband and edited by me.)

Charlotte’s little piggies.  Her feet are so tiny, especially compared to Cooper’s.  She just started wearing a size 6 shoe, while Cooper wears a size 9.DSC_0232_straight_b&w_wm

Show me your tongue!   (I need to work on custom white balance and consider calibrating my monitor.  It drives me crazy to see it different between my two monitors and even more different at work.  I can’t tell if there’s too much red, yellow, magenta or cyan.)DSC_0261_edit_wm DSC_0258_edit_wm

Day 41: Sleigh Rides in California

Charlotte is weak in her upper body, particularly her arms and hands.  As part of her development we are doing fun exercises to help strengthen those muscles.  One way to do it is to give them blanket sleigh rides.  They sit on one blanket and hold onto a second one while we pull them around on the floor.  They love it, but wow it’s a lot of work!

(Note this photo is taken by my husband since I was the one pulling them around.  This is the second time he’s used our new camera and I’m always amazed at his natural talent.  This photo was rather dark, so there is some noise from editing.  Taking pictures this direction in our house is tough because there isn’t anywhere to bounce the flash properly.)DSC_0214_edit_wm

Day 40: Funny Faces

One of my husband’s favorite things to do as a stay at home dad is to see what he can teach the kids everyday.  They are in complete mimic mode and will copy just about anything.  We’ve been working on emotions and funny faces where we tell them an emotion and they make the face.  This is the first time I’ve been able to capture their faces on camera.

Surprise!

Happy!

Sad.  (This one is my favorite of Charlotte’s.  She has a hard time not smiling during a sad face.)

Mad

Surprise! (This one is my favorite of Cooper.  He genuinely looks surprised.  It cracks me up.)

Happy! (Focus a bit off since he moved after I focused.)

Sad.

Mad.  Cooper gets a little confused at how to scrunch his eyebrows…sometimes he scrunches his nose instead.
