Day 161: Pink

Having one of each gender has taught me how to remove gender stereotypes from my thinking and just embrace whatever my kids like.  We bought girl panties for Charlotte, but she refuses to wear them because they don’t have trains or Handy Manny on them (why is that by the way?).  We bought Cooper trains and Handy Manny because they don’t have pink underwear for boys (again not fair to Cooper since that’s his favorite color).  This is how Cooper decided to spend his morning.  I’m not even phased with my son wearing Minnie Mouse underwear and bright pink socks.  I guess I just don’t notice if something is ‘girl’ or ‘boy’ anymore.

(I swear I’m not purposely ignoring Charlotte these days, but she does NOT want me to take pictures of her lately, so I’m laying off).

That is too funny! Save this for future blackmail when he's going through his teens ;-)

How cute! My little nephew just turned 5 and his favorite color for the longest time was pink, we thought it was funny but cute!

Kaidon carried around a pink doll until he was in 2nd grade! We called him "baby bob" just so it would be a little more masculine.....hahaha! as a joke of course:) Gender specifics really bother me. I really get irritated when Is see moms tell their boys to stop playing with the girls toys or the girls to stop "acting" like a boy! Your kids will thank you someday.
