Day 76: Tricycles

Yay for spring!!  We can actually use our patio, although we need to really do a spring cleaning from all the rain we’ve had.  They love being outdoors and this is perfect for them to enjoy all their outdoor toys, plus a new place for me to take pictures!

I also got my new lens!  (Well it’s actually a used lens, but it’s new to me!)  I bought it from www.usedcameras.com and also purchased the 1 yr warranty.  I found a coupon code for 10% off from www.retailmenot.com, and shipping was cheap, so it was a really great deal.  I bought a Nikon 35mm-70mm f/2.8 lens.  It’s an older type of lens, but since Nikon has forward and backward compatibility, it works on my camera body.  It’s quiet, sharp, and FAST.  Much faster than even my prime lens.  I’m still learning to use it, but I really, really love it so far.

I tried some different editing techniques tonight with doing a more vintage look.  The bright colors were nice, but there’s something about tricycles that calls for vintage.

I love, love this one of Cooper.  I like the backlighting and how innocent he looks.  It’s a bit underexposed because it was the first one I took on the patio while I was adjusting all my settings.  I kind like how dark it is.

This is a similar pose for Charlotte, but I like that Cooper is in the background as well.

She looks so happy here!  (Amazing since she is sick again…inflamed left tonsil and possible ear infection.)DSC_2051_edit_wm

I just love how Cooper is staring right at the camera and how Charlotte is checking out what he is doing.DSC_2064_edit_wm

I can’t pinpoint what it is that I like about this one.  Maybe that it shows how short she is and really has to stretch to touch the ground, or that she’s figuring out how to maneuver around the other tricycle.  I don’t know, but she’s too cute.DSC_2072_edit_wm

I love this one too.  Seriously how cute is he??  I wish I would have gotten it more straight on rather than slightly off to the side.
